Distribution

With the Portuguese Cinema Digitisation Plan, Cinemateca Portuguesa aims to contribute to a decentralised circuit for accessing the national film heritage, actively working to screen and distribute the films in its collection.  

Cinemateca’s distribution catalogue includes several titles and continues to grow. It includes important works by directors such as Paulo Rocha, Manuela Viegas, Fernando Matos Silva, Luís Filipe Rocha, Manuel Mozos, Margarida Gil, António Reis and Margarida Cordeiro, among many others. From silent films to Cinema Novo, from the Revolution to the 1990s generation, the collection includes various formats, durations, periods and trends in Portuguese cinema. 

Cinemateca is open to receiving programming proposals and screening requests from festivals, film clubs, distributors, museums, universities and other entities, both national and international.
