Synopsis

Vasco Leitão, medical student, survives on the allowance provided by his aunts, who live in Trás-os-Montes and never visited Lisbon, always trusting their nephew as a responsible student. Well, Vasco Leitão has a preference for retreats and parties, popular songs and pretty women- particularly, Alice, a sewer from Bairro dos Castelinho- which doesn’t please her father, Caetano, a tailor, knowing Vasco has a lot of debt. Vasco Leitão misfortunes followed: on the very same day, not only he failed his final exam, but also received a letter from his aunts announcing to him that they’re coming to visit him in Lisbon.
