Synopsis

Commemorations of the double centenary of the foundation and restoration of Portugal, held in Lisbon, Guimarães, Porto, Braga, the Alentejo and the Algarve. It included a speech by Salazar, the hoisting of the foundation flag, the Lisbon Popular Marches, the Flower Parade, commemorations of the Battles of Ourique and Faro, the Castle Parade, the Historical Parade, the Medieval Parade in Porto, the extension of the Janelas Verdes Museum, the inaugural act of the Portuguese World Exhibition, Leiria district exhibition, Beja livestock exhibition, Trás-os-Montes and Ribatejo provincial festival, inauguration of the statue of Pedro Álvares Cabral, departure of Olegário Mariano, deed ceremony for the Almada Palace, farewell to the Special Embassy of Brazil.
