Running for mayor on the National Popular Front, Torcato dos Santos, known as Catão, pursues the shy Sílvia with threats and promises, and she refuses him. Sílvia is a mystical drag queen, desperately searching for a love that is not of our world. One night, however, Silvia crosses paths with Vicente, a policeman chasing drag queens who, characterised as Noivas de Stº António, are attacking the city's festivities. Meanwhile, the elections are approaching and Catão, jealous, will risk his career.
