Synopsis
Using two collective characters, dichotomous among themselves, from the matter to reality, Fernando Matos Silva delivers a documentary-fiction that breaks down the wall between the real and the imaginary of the Portuguese Colonial War - Acto dos Feitos da Guiné. Perceived through the eyes of a colonial post-soldier, one time the director’s personal experience, this film is a permanent game between raw images of a war in-site and preformed images of tragic maritime history. In this way, fiction and reality come together to create a film that illustrates the Portuguese passage through Guinea-Bissau. Alternating between colour and black and white, the first takes on the director’s reality, while the second is documentary, an authentic war report.
Digitisation
