Synopsis
This film is classified as a testimonial-itinerary that tries to investigate the traces of the emigrant Jews that remained in the region of Trás-os-Montes, particularly their habits and customs. Through the memory-inquiry into topical popular strata in their uses, rituals and celebrations, it is thus possible to distinguish or see other profiles of the Portuguese case- of sacrifice, cohesion and persistence: Argozelo is where everything is learned, with the ancient tanning industry remaining; the miners - their life underground, the burel, the linen, the day-to-day life of the Mirandese woman and man.
Digitisation
Digitization by Cinemateca Portuguesa - Museu do Cinema, under the scope of the Recovery and Resilience Plan. A measure integrated into the Next Generation EU program.
