Synopsis
Ivan moves from Lisbon to live with his father, Vicente, head of the railway station, in a lost village in the countryside. But Vicente is ill, the station is closing, and the house he was going to move into after retirement has burned down. Teresa lives in the house next to the station. Glória lives with her nanny, Teresa, who looks after the emigrants' children in the house next to the station. She always seems to be slipping through everyone's fingers. She spends endless hours playing with Ivan amongst the mountains and ruins. She feels a strange attraction to Mauro, who has returned from prison for setting fire to his brother Vicente's house. Now he's threatening him again, hanging around the station.
