Synopsis

The story of the poor fishing community of Nazaré, its tragedies and conflicts, highlighting the collective drama, always with the sea as the tragic or fertilizing origin. António Manata and Manuel Manata are two very different fishermen brothers. One is strong and brave and the other weak and cowardly. The birth-life-death cycle is traced through them.
