Synopsis
The 1920s to the 1980s in Cape Verde. Upon his death, Napumoceno da Silva Araújo - a wealthy merchant - left a long will in which he distributed his wealth. Everything fell apart with April 25, 1974, followed by Cape Verde's independence in 1975. The action of the film takes place in Mindelo, on the island of S. Vicente, where Napumoceno landed in 1928, coming from S. Nicolau. His biography recounts the many adventures of this “barefoot boy”, who became rich in trade as a result of an unusual mistake in an order for umbrellas. His true, eccentric personality is only discovered via the tapes he leaves for a then unknown daughter, who suddenly becomes heir to his entire fortune.
