Synopsis

A newly graduated doctor, José Pereira, meets Maria Eugénia, a young and passionate woman, on the eve of April 25, 1974, the day of the Carnation Revolution that ended the right-wing dictatorship. They quickly fall deeply in love, and little time passes between their courtship and marriage. However, he begins to doubt such a love, finding it “too intense” for him. Meanwhile, the revolution runs its course, and José Pereira — who had been persecuted and had fought against the system — feels left behind. From emotions to political ideals: through desire, jealousy, prejudice, and suspicions of betrayal.
